Opening Week, a week of academics, interactive programs and fun, begins when more than 1,300 new freshmen participate in the “New Student Move-In” on Saturday, Aug. 16. Activities continue through Saturday, Aug. 23.

Throughout the week, new students will complete an academic workshop, learn about campus and college life, and participate in Project X. The Project X competition will be Friday, Aug. 22, and the campus community is invited to cheer for their favorite teams and support the new students. If you don’t have time to watch the races, vehicles will be on display all day Friday, Aug. 22, in the Havener Center. Evening activities for new students include a welcome picnic, comedian, Vegas Night, ice cream social, outdoor movie, free concert and more.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend any and all events during Opening Week to welcome our new students to campus. Don’t miss New Student Convocation, the official Missouri S&T welcome, at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in the Student Rec Center of Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
