Blackboard/LMS evaluation update

During the fall 2013 semester, educational technology formed a committee to evaluate Blackboard as a Learning Management System (LMS) suitable for this campus. Instructors and students from across campus participated in this committee. The campus community also had several opportunities to offer opinions and feedback through open forums and an online survey. The committee unanimously decided that Blackboard and two or three alternatives should be evaluated further, starting in January 2014.

Educational technology is recruiting for the next committee in the Blackboard/LMS evaluation process. The committee will meet with vendors, evaluate alternatives and make a recommendation for which LMS will best suit the campus needs for teaching and learning. Anyone on campus (faculty, staff or students) interested in participating in the next committee should contact Angie Hammons, manager of educational technology.
