Instructors are invited to “Making Homework More Effective,” a Faculty Learning Event, scheduled from noon to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, in the Missouri Room of the Havener Center. The event is sponsored by CERTI and educational technology.

Dr. Greg Story, associate professor of physics, and Dr. Jeff Thomas, associate teaching professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, will present. Topics will include online and traditional homework, discrepancies between homework scores and test scores, cheating, time on task and other topics.

Note: due to time limitations, this session will primarily deal with problem-based homework. Another session is planned for the spring semester on a wider variety of homework types. This is a brown bag lunch, dessert and drinks will be provided. RSVP to hagnid@mst.edu by Wednesday, Oct. 30.
