Faculty and staff golf league results

The eight-week fall 2013 faculty and staff golf league at the Miners’ Golf Course concluded on Oct. 22. There were 21 participants from various departments separated into three-person teams, with seven substitutes. The league had good weather during the majority of rounds.
The team of Bill Bleckman, Joe Jackson and Jim Taylor came away with the league win. The second-place team of Bill White, Bill Bonzer and Neil Book and the third-place team of K.M. Isaac, Tim Philpot and David Wright tied in scoring. The tie was broken by the teams’ actual scores, with the team of White, Bonzer and Book winning by two strokes.
Participants said the league was fun and a great way to get to know people from other areas of the university, says Matt Mick, supervisor of the golf course. If you are interested in participating in the spring 2014 league, contact Mick.
