The 2013 Innovations in Mining Engineering Conference that is being held in St. Louis this week has included presentations by several S&T representatives. The conference, which began on Monday, Sept. 9, and runs through Thursday, Sept. 12, is being held at the St. Louis Airport Marriott. Dr. Samuel Frimpong, the Robert H. Quenon Chair of Mining Engineering, and Dr. Venkata Allada, vice provost for graduate studies, co-chaired a forum titled “Placing Missouri S&T at the Global Frontier of Education and Research.”
Other participants included Dr. David Enke, chair of engineering management and systems engineering, Dr. Jeanie Hofer, director of international affairs, Dr. Gregory Gelles, chair of economics, and Dr. Jerry Tien, associate professor of mining engineering. The group discussed the current global footprints and various strategies that are being used to increase S&T’s global presence.
