A new semester is starting and with it the Missouri S&T Faculty/Staff Golf League will begin play at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at the Miners’ Golf Course.
The league welcomes players of all abilities from beginners to experienced. The tournament is a scramble format, which makes it easier for beginning golfers and players with limited skills to enjoy the game.
The league will play every Tuesday for eight weeks, with makeup games for rain-outs held the following Thursday. It is open to current or retired faculty and staff. Immediate family members are also welcome to join the league.
There will be several changes for fall 2013 league:
Substitute players – if you would like to participate on a substitute basis, let the course know. They will be making a substitute player list that the teams can utilize if they know a player will not be able to attend. There is no cost to participate as a substitute.
Team unable to attend – if an entire team is unable to attend the scheduled play day, that team can choose to play at any time prior to the next scheduled league play.
The cost to participate is $20 for those who have a season pass at the course and $60 for all others. If you would like to play in the league, contact Matt Mick or call the Miners’ Golf Course Clubhouse between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at 341-4217 with the following information:
• Your average score for the nine holes on the Miners’ Golf Course
• Your average score for hole number six
• Which tee you’ll be using (women play red tees, men under 65 play white tees, and men 65 or older play yellow tees)
