Luna visits earthquake site

Last spring, Dr. Ronaldo Luna, professor of civil, architectural and environmental engineering, visited areas affected by an earthquake that occurred in Guatemala in November 2012. He visited the area as a member of the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, a nonprofit technical society. The group collected information about the effects of the earthquake, examined current construction practices in the region and made recommendations to improve seismic risk mitigation practices in Guatemala.
