2013 Curators’ Teaching Summit

The first session of the 2013 Curators’ Teaching Summit will be held at noon Monday, Sept. 16, in the Missouri/Ozark Room of the Havener Center. The topic will be “Tackling Emerging Student Issues in the Classroom.” The event is sponsored by CERTI, the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation.
The use of counseling, disability and advocacy services is soaring in colleges around the nation, and S&T is no exception. Students appear to have fewer coping and problem-solving skills, be more connected to parents in an “extended adolescence” and have less ability to deal with failure, disappointment or frustration than past generations. Learn how these issues affect teaching and learning, and discover what resources and strategies can help you in the classroom.
