2013 Opening Week Orientation will feature academics, interactive programs and fun. The week begins with more than 1,250 new freshmen participating in the “New Student Move-In” on Saturday, Aug. 10, and activities continue through Saturday, Aug. 17. Throughout the week, new students will complete an academic workshop, learn about campus and college life and participate in Project X, a team design project where new students have a common learning experience together. If you don’t have time to watch the races, vehicles will be on display all day on Friday, Aug. 16, in the Havener Center. There will be plenty of evening activities for our new students, which include: a welcome picnic, a comedian, Vegas Night, ice-cream socials, an outdoor movie, putt-putt golf, music and more.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend any and all events during Opening Week to welcome our new students to campus. The New Student Convocation, the official Missouri S&T welcome, will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12, in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. Attend and meet our new students.

Campus participation in Opening Week sends a strong message of caring and encourages success for our new students. For a complete schedule of Opening Week activities, visit pro.mst.edu or follow us on Facebook at Missouri S&T New Student Programs.
