Missouri S&T to host summer camps for girls

Girls from middle school through high school can discover opportunities in the fields of science, technology and engineering in one of S&T’s week-long residential camps that will be held this summer on campus. Participants will explore personal interests through hands-on group projects and team design competitions, experience life on a college campus, interact with and learn from professors and S&T students, learn about careers in science, engineering and technology, and have fun.

  • “It’s a Girl Thing” will be held June 3-7. Girls who will enter 7th and 8th grades in the fall will discover the fascinating and fun world of science and engineering.
  • “Summer Solutions” will be held June 17-21. Girls who will enter 9th and 10th grades in the fall will be introduced to the fascinating and fun world of science and engineering.
  • “Girls Go Green” will be held July 15-19. Girls who will enter 11th and 12th grades in the fall will have a chance to explore career options that help society while protecting the environment.

Registration fees range from $350 to $400 for each camp and cover meals, activities, supplies and housing. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the S&T campus.
