Effective Jan. 1, 2014, all XP devices will be restricted from open network access at Missouri S&T in order to protect the campus network. This summer, IT will meet with customers to explore options to minimize disruption to your academic and research missions while addressing XP support issues.
In early 2014, Microsoft will discontinue all support and security updates for the XP operating system, increasing vulnerability for these systems and our campus network. If you are using one of the XP computers on campus, it’s time to start planning for changes in Information Technology’s support of XP.
