Statistics professor to present two public lectures, one today

Guest speaker Dr. Victor Patrangenaru, professor of statistics at Florida State University, will present two public lectures on different mathematical topics:


Geometry and the Nonparametric Bootstrap: A Key to Data Analysis,” will be presented from 4:15-5:15 p.m. today, Thursday, April 4, in Room 120 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Refreshments will be provided prior to the start of the presentation at 4 p.m.
All We See Are 3D Projective Shapes,” will be presented from 4:15-5:15 p.m. Friday, April 5, in Room 120 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Refreshments will be provided prior to the start of the presentation at 4 p.m.
Patrangenaru’s visit and talks are presented as part of the office of sponsored programs’ Distinguished Seminar Series. Additional support for his visit is provided by the Missouri Institute for Computational and Applied Mathematical Sciences (MICAMS).
