Learn how to generate classroom discussions

Instructors are invited to “Generating Good Classroom Discussions,” a CERTI Faculty Learning Community brown bag event that will be held from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the Meramec-Gasconade Room of the Havener Center. Dessert and drinks will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own lunch. Presenters Shannon Fogg, associate professor of history, and Katie Shannon, associate teaching professor of biological sciences, will share their experiences with building engagement and critical thinking skills through classroom discussion. They will also discuss using primary literature and introducing research papers via discussion formats, as well as other topics. RSVP to hagnid@mst.edu by Wednesday, Jan. 30, to reserve your spot.
