Honor the memory of Matthew Shepard and other lost loved ones and learn how to stop hate in the world at an event scheduled from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the Puck. Shepard was a student at the University of Wyoming who was murdered because of his sexual orientation and was the subject of the play The Laramie Project. Shepard’s murder is credited with bringing national and international attention to the creation of hate crime legislation that was signed into law on Oct. 28, 2009, by President Obama.
