What are sociotechnical systems, cyber-physical systems and humanics? The Intelligent Systems Center will hold an organizational meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, in Room 329 Engineering Research Lab for faculty interested in researching sociotechnical systems with the goal of seeking external funding.
These systems intersect the boundaries of computer science, engineering and social sciences research. Faculty working in the human side of technological issues (humanics); engineered systems including cyber-physical systems and energy systems, smart houses and intelligent transportation; sustainability; and security and privacy are encouraged to attend.
Lunch will be served prior to the meeting starting at 11:30 a.m. RSVP by Tuesday, Sept. 4, to Kaylon Buckner at bucknerkl@mst.edu or 341-4908. For more information, contact Dr. Bruce McMillin in the computer science department at ff@mst.edu or 341-6435.
