Because several campus parking lots are closed for the geothermal energy upgrade, students may be required to park on the street. Please note that the Rolla Police Department will ticket vehicles parked for more than 72 consecutive hours in many locations. You can read the Rolla city ordinances here.
New offers for S&T parking passes are being emailed daily as others opt out. On Friday, Aug. 24, all current offers will expire and a new set of offers will be emailed.
The geothermal project will replace S&T’s aging coal-fired power plant, which was built in 1945. The project will cut the campus’s annual energy use by half, its carbon footprint by 25,000 metric tons per year and water usage by 8,000,000 gallons per year. Get updates about the status of parking lot closures here and about the project here.
