Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the Opening Week events to help welcome new students to campus. A highlight of the week is New Student Convocation, the official Missouri S&T welcome, which will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, in the Student Recreation Center, located in the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. This is a great opportunity to learn more about S&T and meet new students.

This year’s Opening Week Orientation will include a week of academics, interactive programs and fun activities. More than 1,100 freshmen will participate in the “New Student Move-In” on Saturday, Aug. 11. Throughout the week, students will complete an academic workshop, learn about campus and college life, and participate in Project X, a team design project. The evening activities will include a welcome picnic, comedian, Vegas night, ice cream social, outdoor movie, free concert and more.
Campus participation in Opening Week sends a strong message of caring and encourages new students success. A complete schedule of Opening Week activities is available here or follow new student programs on Facebook.
For more information or for a detailed schedule of events, contact new student programs in Room 106 Centennial Hall, 341-7045 or pfrisbee@mst.edu.
