Twenty-four middle-school students and teachers from local schools, including Rolla 31, St. Patrick School, St. James R-1, Salem R-80 and Dent-Phelps R-3, attended the initiation of Eta Kappa Nu, the electrical and computer engineering honor society held Nov. 13, in the Havener Center. Dr. Sandra Magnus, S&T alumnus and astronaut, was initiated as a professional member and gave the keynote presentation. The students also attended a pre-college reception with Magnus before the initiation. The pre-college program was supported by IEEE. Advisors to Eta Kappa Nu are Drs. Steve E. Watkins, Sahra Sedigh and Theresa Swift.
