UM biology prof to discuss bench research skills

Biology professor Bethany Stone will discuss how research can enhance science teaching and improve student learning in her lecture titled “Using Bench Research Skills to Improve Teaching and Learning in Biology,” scheduled for noon Monday, Oct. 17, in Room 126 Schrenk Hall. An associate teaching professor of biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Stone will be on campus as part of the biology department’s seminar series.
Although geared toward biology, the principles Stone will share about how students learn in science courses and how student misconceptions can be addressed will apply to other disciplines as well — all instructors are welcome to attend.
