Student to be recognized at reception for her volunteerism

Rebecca M. Holmes, a sophomore in psychology and history from Rolla, will receive a $500 textbook scholarship during National Student Appreciation Day on Thursday, Oct. 6, for her volunteerism on campus and in the community. Sponsored by the National Association of College Stores (NACS) and campus bookstores across the nation, this inaugural event recognizes students who give back to their community through volunteerism and social responsibility. Seventeen students were nominated at Missouri S&T. A reception will be held at 1:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 6, at the Missouri S&T Bookstore. Debra Robinson, vice chancellor for student affairs, will present the scholarship to Holmes at 2 p.m., during the reception. The event is free and open to the public.
