The documentary ICYIZERE: hope will be shown from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. Following the film will be a discussion with its award-winning director and Kenya native, Patrick Mureithi. Mureithi traveled to Rwanda to film a gathering of 10 survivors and 10 perpetrators of the 1994 genocide. ICYIZERE: hope tells of the participants’ experiences at the gathering as they learn about post-traumatic stress disorder and go through a series of group exercises to build trust.
