Fiction reading Oct. 24

Author John Dalton will read excerpts from his work at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, in the Missouri Room of the Havener Center. He is the author of the novel Heaven Lake, winner of the Barnes and Noble 2004 Discover Award in fiction and the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. His latest novel, The Inverted Forest, was published earlier this year. Dalton is a graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and has held fellowships at The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Mass., and The MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire. He directs the University of Missouri-St. Louis master of fine arts program in creative writing. The reading is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
