Dr. James Friend, associate dean for research and professor of mechanical engineering at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, will present a mechanical and aerospace engineering graduate seminar, “Applications of High-Frequency Ultrasonics in Microfluids and Microactuation,” from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, in Room 199 Toomey Hall. Friend earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering in 1992, and a master’s degree and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering in 1994 and 1998, respectively, all from Missouri S&T.
