In an effort to protect users from malware and phishing scams, Missouri S&T information technology (IT) is implementing an additional layer of protection against malware on Wednesday, July 27.
The service, Blackhole DNS, was developed by researchers at MOREnet to defend users against the ever-growing number of malicious websites. This service will redirect traffic away from sites known to host malware toward a designated safe site. Because malware is frequently hidden in advertisements and legitimate webpages, users are often unaware they are at risk of infection.
