Three test wells for Missouri S&T’s geothermal project are in the process of being drilled and tested on campus. The process will take a couple of weeks. The data collected from these well tests will be used in the design of the geothermal project well fields. The test well in Parking Area C Lot 11, located south of 10th Street (across from Castleman Hall), will be the first to be drilled. A sizeable portion of the lot will be required for the drilling equipment and operation. This will disrupt parking; however, the lot will remain open. Be advised that the drilling operation will at times spray dirt and water short distances across the parking lot.

Schedules for the other two wells, located in Parking Area M Lot 36 (adjacent to ERL), and in the athletic field south of the Indoor Practice Facility, will be communicated to the campus soon.
