Information technology is in the process of phasing out the Windows XP operating system throughout the campus network before the December 2013 deadline. Now is the time to start planning and budgeting. If you use a networked XP computer for routine business or academic purposes, you are asked to contact IT to explore your options.
Contact Melissa Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org or 341-4771 for more information. If you utilize computers with the XP operating system for research-specific purposes, contact Mark Bookout at email@example.com or 341-6890.
By December 2013, networked XP machines will be disconnected from the network unless specific provisions for security and access have been addressed. Contact IT to discuss options and make a plan for XP computers that might still be in use in 2013.
