Dr. John M. Prausnitz from the University of California at Berkeley will present “Chemical Engineering for the Postmodern World” Thursday, April 14, in the Missouri-Ozark Room of the Havener Center. A reception from 3:30-4 p.m. will be followed by the lecture from 4-5 p.m. His presentation is sponsored by the 14th Academy of Chemical Engineers Lectureship.
Prausnitz’s research comprises theoretical studies, molecular simulations and extensive experimental work using a broad variety of experimental techniques. His research work covers properties of hydrocarbons, polymers and gels, liquefied gases at low temperatures, aqueous solutions of proteins, solutions of electrolytes, ionic liquids, adsorption of fluids on solid surfaces and similar studies in applied physical chemistry.
