The Missouri Humanities Council is calling for nominations for the 2011 Governor’s Humanities Awards to celebrate the accomplishments of people who have made exceptional contributions to the understanding of Missouri, its people and its stories. The Excellence in Education award recognizes one or more teachers of English, history, languages or social studies from any Missouri public or private school, kindergarten through higher education. Nominations are open until Friday, March 18, and are available under the “Celebrations of Recognition” header at www.mohumanities.org/resources/.
