“Transitions: Balancing Teaching and Research, part 2,” the next installment of the 2010 Curators’ Teaching Summit, will be held from noon-1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, in St. Pat’s Ballroom C of the Havener Center. Lunch will be provided.
Three Curators’ Teaching Professors – Dr. Jim Bogan, arts, languages and philosophy; Dr. Yinfa Ma, chemistry; and Dr. Allan Pringle, physics – will share personal experiences about transitioning from pre-tenure to tenured faculty and from associate to full professorship. They will also discuss pitfalls to avoid, how to begin a research program and recruiting and keeping graduate students. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Reserve your spot by Wednesday, Oct. 13 by emailing certi@mst.edu. Please indicate if you have any specific dietary needs. The event is sponsored by the Center for Educational Research and Teaching Innovation (CERTI).
