Goldberg to read work of fiction

Mathew Goldberg, a lecturer in the English and technical communication department, will read his story “Friedman in the Dark” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in the Southwestern Bell Cultural Center, 1207 N. Elm St. The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served.


Goldberg holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical and electrical engineering from Duke University.
He recently received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Arkansas Arts Council and a special mention for a Pushcart Prize. His stories have appeared in Shenandoah, Mississippi Review and American Short Fiction, among many others. “Friedman in the Dark” will appear in a forthcoming edition of The Atlantic.
