As part of reorganization developed in conjunction with the planned retirement of Marvin L. Patton, former director of physical facilities, two members of the physical facilities staff have received reclassifications. Jim Packard’s position has been reclassified as director of facility operations and Ted Ruth’s position has been reclassified as director of design and construction management. Both positions now report to the vice chancellor for administrative services, F. Stephen Malott. These reclassifications are part of a reorganization plan that had been developed in recent months in conjunction with Patton’s planned retirement on Jan. 31, and prior to his death on Jan. 17. The director of physical facilities position now no longer exists, and this reorganization will result in a net reduction in administrative staff and cost.
