According to the American Diabetes Association, a total of 23.6 million people (7.8 percent of the population) have been diagnosed with diabetes, another 5.7 million people go undiagnosed, and 57 million people have pre-diabetes. The classes will be taught by Phelps County Regional Medical Center’s diabetic educator, Charlene Windsor, and registered dietitian Kathy Bunn. Classes are open to faculty, staff and their families. To pre-register, please contact Jerry Parmeley at parmeleyj@umsystem.edu or call 341-7258.
