Beginning July 1, Microsoft Windows 7 will be the standard operating system on campus. This means Windows 7 will be installed on any new university-owned computers issued after that date. If you use XP or Vista and your computer meets the minimum hardware requirements, you’ll be eligible to upgrade when the operating system becomes available to campus.
Many of the classroom and CLC computers will also begin the transition to Windows 7 for the fall semester.
To learn more about Windows 7 and its improved functionality, an IT informational session will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, March 12, during the TLT Conference in the Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Registration is required. Sign up online at edtech.mst.edu.
