As part of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC), signed by UM System President Gary Forsee, Missouri S&T will again participate in RecycleMania, a college and university waste minimization and recycling competition. The competition lasts from Sunday, Jan. 17, through Saturday, March 27. The main goal is to raise awareness of:

  1. What recycling programs are already in place on campus;
  2. What each of us can do to minimize our waste and ultimately our impact on the environment; and
  3. How much waste we, as a campus, generate.

Data will be compiled to compare last year’s baseline to the current generation. The new data will help S&T set goals to minimize campus waste and help reduce future costs for disposal. Everyone is encouraged to participate. Contact Julie Wilson at 341-4262 or wilsonjulie@mst.edu to find out what you can do.
