Rock Mechanics to host open house on Tuesday

The Rock Mechanics and Explosives Research Center will have an open house from 2-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at its facility at 1006 Kingshighway. All students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by to welcome Dr. Stewart Gillies as the newly-appointed interim director of the center, and to thank Dr. David A. Summers for his years of service as director. Chancellor Carney will speak at 3 p.m. Tours of the facility and refreshments will be provided.
