Faculty participation is vital when welcoming the more than 1,000 new students during the 2009 Opening Week Orientation in August. Interested faculty will eat lunch and meet with the student mentor groups to discuss faculty expectations and classroom respect. The goal is to facilitate a positive interaction between new students and faculty.

This is your chance to give students classroom success tips. The faculty and student interactions are scheduled Tuesday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 20, for the following time slots: 10:45-11:25 a.m.; 11:40 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; and 12:35-1:15 p.m. Faculty may participate one day or all three days, in one or all time slots.

Your support is needed and appreciated. Those who participate will be asked to attend the faculty discussion and planning session scheduled from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, in the Carver-Turner Room of the Havener Center. To participate, please contact Patty Frisbee in new student programs, Room 106 Centennial Hall, 341-7045 or pfrisbee@mst.edu.
