Flags are at half-staff Monday, April 20, at all state facilities from sunrise to sunset by order of Gov. Jay Nixon to honor the memory of Sgt. Edward W. Forrest Jr.
Forrest, of Fenton, Mo., was killed in action while serving in Mosul, Iraq.
Senate Bill 806 was signed into law in 2008 requiring flags to be flown at half-staff for one day whenever a Missourian is killed in the line of duty during military service.
