Stepping up the soul of black history

Leadership and cultural programs has worked with a group of students to plan the following events to celebrate Black History Month. The campus community is invited to join in these celebrations: 



— 12:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, Short Step Show in Havener Center Atrium

— 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, “Throw Back to Give Back” event in Havener Center, hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha, monetary and food donations to benefit G.R.A.C.E. food pantry will be accepted to this charity event

— 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, Black History Jeopardy in Havener Center Atrium

— 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, “What a Woman Wants” presentation at Southwestern Bell Cultural Center, hosted by Black Men’s Think Tank

— 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, Sizzlin’ Soul Food and Games in Thomas Jefferson Hall cafeteria, tickets are $7 each

— 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, “Is a Greek a Greek?” in Havener Center

— 6-9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, Holiday Expo at the Southwestern Bell Cultural Center, hosted by leadership and cultural programs and student diversity programs
