Student health services welcomes new director

Dr. Dennis Goodman replaced Melba Read as director of student health services. Read retired after more than 30 years with the university.
Goodman received a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame and a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kirksville College of Medicine. He is a board-certified physician in family practice and a certified medical director, and has active staff privileges at Phelps County Regional Medical Center. In addition to having a private medical practice in the area, Goodman has worked as a part-time physician at Missouri S&T’s student health services, was medical director at Missouri Veteran’s Facility in St. James, and is a former chief of staff of the Mercy Medical Group in Rolla.
