UM Controllers Office to present new fiscal policies on Oct. 10

Representatives from the UM controllers office will be on campus Friday, Oct. 10, to present information and answer questions about two new policies that outline requirements for departments in conducting fiscal business. Both presentations will be held at the Havener Center.


Segregation of Duties
Senior administration and all individuals responsible for assignment and supervision of employees that carry out fiscal activities must ensure there is adequate segregation of duties within their areas of responsibility. This policy provides a framework for an appropriate control environment for all fiscal activity.

Segregation of Duties – Sponsored Programs Activity</b
Federal and state regulations impose additional requirements in managing sponsored program fiscal activity. This policy provides guidance for the authorization, review and documentation required in the management of grant and contract activity.
