University students are particularly susceptible to cyber security threats. Knowing how to surf safely and protect data and personal information is crucial. Throughout Cyber Security Awareness Month, IT will offer tips for best cyber security practices.

Operation Fortify is the official kick-off to a month dedicated to promoting cyber security awareness and is an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to have computers evaluated for security threats and to talk to the ACM Sig-Security Team for cyber security advice. The sessions are free and food will be provided.

  • Session 1 – 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 6, in the atrium of the Havener Center
  • Session 2 – 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7, in the south lounge of Thomas Jefferson Residence Hall
  • Session 3 – 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Seminar Rooms 1 and 2 of the Residential College
