The office of undergraduate studies will recognize select faculty who involve or influence students in academic service learning or community service activities outside the classroom. All students, faculty and staff can submit nominations for this faculty award. Nominations must include a supporting statement (maximum of one page) that describes how the nominee involves or influences students in community service or academic service-learning through his or her work with student groups, learning communities and/or classroom instruction.
Nominations may include up to three letters of support from department chairs, colleagues and/or students.
Nominations are due Sept. 30. The recipient of the 2008 Faculty Service Learning Award will be recognized at a campus award ceremony on Oct. 22, in conjunction with National Make a Difference Day.
