The Tour of Missouri cycling event will finish in front of Castleman Hall at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11. Cyclists will enter town from the west on Martin Springs Drive, turn left onto Fairgrounds Road and then right on 10th Street past Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building. The race circuit will consist of three laps in a figure eight through the downtown area.
Make plans now to view this exciting event. An estimated 15,000 to 20,000 spectators will be present to view the event in Rolla. Automobile travel and parking around campus will be affected. University parking lots 22 (across State Street from the Chancellor’s Residence) and 13 (Havener Center) will be closed on Sept. 11. Lot 11 (Castleman Hall) will close on Sept. 10 for the set up of the event. People who normally park in these areas will be directed to alternate parking.
Several hundred volunteers are needed. For additional information, check out the Tour of Missouri website at www.tourofmissouri.com.
