Carroll to receive outstanding teaching award

Douglas R. Carroll, professor of interdisciplinary engineering, has been selected to receive the 2008 Outstanding Teaching Award by the ASEE Midwest Section. The award recognizes Carroll’s contributions to engineering and technology education.
Carroll was recognized for successfully using WebEx to host office hours via the internet, and for his leadership in the establishment of student design and experiential learning opportunities.
Carroll has won numerous awards, including seven Faculty Excellence Awards, a Dean’s Teaching Fellow Award, a Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award and two MSM-UMR Alumni Association Outstanding Advisor Awards.
The award will be presented at the 2008 ASEE Midwest Section Conference to be held from Sept. 17-19 in Tulsa, Okla.
