The department of student life is presenting UMR Unity Day 2007 on Nov. 28. This year’s theme, "Performing with a Purpose: Celebrating the Art in Each of Us," acknowledges the university’s rich diversity through the arts. Festivities will begin with a welcome by Chancellor Carney and Student Council’s diversity liaison Erin Hayden, followed by student performances featuring a variety of ethnic tributes of music, dance and expressions of speech. The event, which also includes a diversity poster competition, chalking activity, food and door prizes, will be held from 11:30-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28, in the Havener Center Atrium. Unity Day is co-sponsored by the Chancellor’s Office and the office of public relations. For more information, contact Angela Perkins in Student Life at 341-4286 or angelap@umr.edu.
