Arts Rolla is holding its 7th Writing Competition. The entry form can be downloaded from the Arts Rolla website. To receive the form by mail, call the Arts Rolla office at 364-5539 or contact Gerald Cohen (gcohen@umr. edu). The submission deadline for the competition is Dec. 1. The competition is supported by UMR’s department of English and technical communication.
The competition accepts written work in the creative writing categories of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Two judges will choose the prize winners in each category. At the judges’ discretion, monetary awards worth $100, $50, and $25 will be given.
The winners will be announced and have an opportunity to read from their work at a reception to be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2008, at the Centre (Rolla’s Health and Recreation Complex), 1200 N. Holloway St. The public is invited to this event.
