UMR police officer arrested

UMR police officer Leonard Cook Jr. was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, on charges of second-degree statutory sodomy and possession of child pornography on his personal computer. Cook’s arrest follows an investigation by the Missouri Highway Patrol. He has been suspended without pay pending an investigation.
According to the Highway Patrol, future information concerning this investigation will be disseminated by the Phelps County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
