KMST’s annual membership picnic is Friday

UMR public radio station KMST will host its annual membership picnic from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Lions’ Club Park on U.S. Highway 63 South in Rolla.
Reservations are required for the picnic. Those interested are asked to RSVP in advance by calling the station at 341-4386 or 888-776-5678.


KMST will supply the main dishes, which include pulled pork and brisket sandwiches provided by Swiss Meat & Sausage Company in Hermann, veggie burgers and hot dogs. Family and friends are welcome to bring a covered dish, salad or dessert. Beverages will be provided by Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Rolla.
This year the picnic will include a baking competition with categories including pies, cakes and miscellaneous. Special activities for younger members include an inflatable bounce slide and water balloon throw.
KMST’s Volunteer of the Year 2007 will also be announced and awarded at the picnic. Several dedicated KMST volunteers have been nominated, including Bob Fossey, Jesse Singleton and Colin Smith, Bill Ricker, Chili Allen, Richard Cavendar and Bonnie Prigge, Suzanne Paule and the PCRMC Marketing Dept., Lois Ann Marler, and Shirley and Bill Andrews.
KMST is a 100,000-watt non-commercial, educational station licensed to the Curators of the University of Missouri System and is located at 88.5FM in Rolla and surrounding communities (96.3 FM in Lebanon, Mo., at their translator facility) and online at www.kmst.org.
This year’s picnic is sponsored by Phelps County Bank, Phelps County Medical Center and Fairground Auto Plaza. KMST does not use membership dollars towards the picnic.
