The office of undergraduate studies encourages all UMR faculty to use the Academic Alert System this semester. A quick link to Academic Alert System is also included on the Joe’s Self Service web page.
To learn more about the Academic Alert System, attend an informational session from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in the St. Pat’s C Ballroom. Lunch will be served. Please contact gillman@umr.edu if you plan to attend.
Implemented in the Fall 2005, the Academic Alert System is a web-based application that replaces the paper version of the former Early Warning System. The system supports communication among instructors, advisors and students in cases where students are not meeting academic course requirements. The system is intended to improve student retention through increased early intervention.
The Academic Alert System includes a detailed reporting function. Customized reports can be created at the individual, departmental or division level. To create a customized report, visit the web page at http://academicalert.mst.edu and click on “Detailed Reports."
If you have questions regarding the system, contact the office of undergraduate studies at 341-7600.
