Some Emerson Hall restrooms temporarily closed
Due to a water main break at Emerson Hall, the restrooms on the building’s west side are temporarily out of service. Due to a water leak, the breezeway at Emerson Hall and the east and west doors into the building from the breezeway are temporarily closed. The breezeway is expected to be closed for at least a week. Please avoid the breezeway. Emerson Hall remains open and the water is on but the building’s heating is affected. Crews are working on repairs. Crews are also working on repairs at S&T’s Diversity House on 605 W. 11th Street. Due to a water leak, the water is currently shut off at the Diversity House.

Research by Dr. Manashi Nath, associate professor of chemistry, and colleagues was featured on the cover of the journal ChemSusChem (Chemistry & Sustainability Energy & Materials). The research examines a low-cost and energy efficient way to split water into its elements of hydrogen and oxygen, which would make hydrogen fuel a more viable energy source in the future.
